Our Mission
The Possibility Institute exists to guide all adolescents and young adults to thrive and develop a strong sense of self grounded in purpose, authenticity, and possibility.
Our Vision
We envision a world in which all young people know themselves deeply, move through the world with clarity, and approach their futures confidently.
Who We Are
TPI is built on Elaine’s thirty years of experience partnering with young people and their families to help them understand themselves with greater clarity and purpose, and her commitment to shift how young people are developing. She embeds values clarification into her work to create sustainable, meaningful change in her clients. TPI’s services expand Elaine’s work by building programs and curricula that help more adolescents understand themselves so they can define an aligned path forward.
What We Offer
Four core services, one values-based framework.
01 The Academy
Cohort-based mentoring & college guidance - girls grades 8-12
The Academy at The Possibility Institute is a selective, cohort-based program for girls that combines personalized college guidance with mentorship, leadership development, and a strong sense of community. Through intimate cohorts of three to five peers, girls build confidence, clarify their values, and develop a stronger sense of self while navigating the college process.
02 The Lab
Longitudinal research & evidence-based practice
The Academy’s research examines whether a cohort-based, values-anchored program can strengthen adolescent girls’ well-being, self-efficacy, sense of belonging, and flourishing as they transition from high school to college. Grounded in established research on adolescent development, peer connection, and values clarification, TPI’s longitudinal study uses validated measures to evaluate how these experiences shape girls’ development during this critical life stage.
03 Professional Services
Training for educators, counselors, & schools
Most advising treats the college application and a student's sense of self as separate work. Professional Development at The Possibility Institute trains counselors, educators, and consultants to run them as one through workshops, seminars, and multi-session training in values-anchored advising.
04 Curriculum & Program Development
Values-based program development
Curriculum & Program Development designs the values framework into curricula, cohort structures, session plans, and facilitation guides your institution can operate without us — identity work as the through-line rather than a unit bolted onto it. Every engagement comes with an assessment plan from The Lab, so you can measure whether it worked.
“A person’s inner voice is like a fingerprint - unique to them. When they learn to listen to the quiet whispers inside them, they are propelled forward in ways unimagined and beautiful.”
